Preparing to Paint

preparing to paint

Before preparing to paint the chopper the team had to go through many long and grueling nights of prepping. One of the first nights they sandblasted the wheels for a second time to make sure they were completely degreased. Next they applied epoxy to the bike and started to hand sand every inch with a very fine sand-paper. During this time they also touched up welds in various parts of the bike and ground them down.

After they were finished with these steps, they met with Mel, who is a teacher at FVTC and specializes in the Collision Damage Assessment Department. He helped the team on many occasions with priming and painting the differnet parts on the chopper. During these last few weeks and during the painting process it is very stressful. The group is putting in many extra nights to make sure that the chopper gets done on time, everyone is feeling the stress. One thing everyone is very greatful about though, is that the chopper will finally be finished after everyone's hard work put into it!
